Job Description Senior PHP Programmer

Job Summary

The Senior programmers will be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining various client websites. They will work either individually, or with one or more junior programmers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Project planning: Project has to be planned from start to finish. Schedules have to me made for testing, deployment, debugging etc.
  • Schedules and Deadlines: Senior programmer will be responsible for keeping the project on schedule and meeting the deadlines.
  • Task delegation and guidance: Delegate tasks to the junior programmers, give them guidance on their work and give updates to the managers on status of the work.

These tasks are in addition to the basic responsibilities of that of a junior programmer.

  • Analysis and Design: Analyze the clients requirements and design the project. Prepare documentation during the initial phase.
  • Writing Code: They will write the code necessary to develop the application.
  • Debugging: Debugging, troubleshooting of the program and recording the results to identify the possible problems in the application.
  • Documentation: Creating functional requirements for the project, and basic user manual for the project if required.
  • Training the end user: Help in training the end users with the application once the application is built.
  • Maintenance and Application upgrade: Perform backups, bug fixes and functionality enhancements as and when required.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

The Senior programmer is expected to be proficient in fundamentals of web programming technologies, front end and back end web technologies and tools of work. Should be able to work unassisted.
